Most people know prof. Rasto Ovin as a professor at the Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Maribor, whose dean he was between 2003 and 2007.
As a visiting professor, he has also lectured at many foreign universities, including two American universities: Virginia Tech and Texas Tech, and at the University of Marburg in Germany.
His scientific research and professional work includes over 650 articles, among which we find popular and professional articles in domestic and foreign media as well as scientific articles in first-class international journals. He often comments on economic trends on radio and television, and also appears as a columnist for the Veฤer daily and a Finance officer.
He also proved his knowledge of the economy outside the academic field, performing the function of a member of the Strategic Council of several governments of the Republic of Slovenia, Deputy President of the Fiscal Council of the Republic of Slovenia and Deputy President of the Supervisory Board of Nova Ljubljanska banka.
Since October 2014, he has been the Dean of the DOBA Faculty, where he teaches macroeconomics.
