Jelena Đurkin Badurina, PhD is assistant professor at University of Rijeka, Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality Management. At the faculty level, she is head of the Department of Management and course coordinator for the graduate course Management of EU projects.

Her main research interests include community-based tourism, hybrid and cooperative organisations, sustainable local development and rural areas. During her ten-years-long career in the academia, she has participated in various scientific, professional and EU projects, either as a researcher or project coordinator.

Jelena Đurkin Badurina authored and co-authored 35 scientific publications including twelve research papers in WOS/Scopus indexed journals and two book chapters in books published by Routledge.

For her research work she has been awarded by University of Rijeka Foundation (best young researcher in the field of social sciences in 2017)
